Why does anyone want to get in touch with 'the ancestors' ?
Mine would chop me up into little bits, castrate me, burn me alive or throw me to the English.

Given that our ancestors could be as violent, discourteous and plain nasty as you describe then wanting to meet them could be an interesting death wish or suicidal fantasy....
