But of course if they could talk, they would just be cynocephaloi,
not dogs at all.














On the other hand,
they DO talk, but not in any way we can be bothered to try and interpret.
And they often understand us better than we understand ourselves.
So, language is by no means such a wonderful thing
as we lead ourselves to believe.
